Day 128 ~ outside boings

Day 128 ~ March 16th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: scaramouch ~ a boastful but cowardly person.

Today’s Calendar Quote:To be able to practice five things everywhere under heaven constitutes perfect virtues…. [They are] gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.” — Confucius

I love today’s word because I didn’t realize that it was actually a real word. I totally thought it was made up so it was cool to learn otherwise haha

I was up for the day at four thirty this morning. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was already getting light out, but it’s still so damn dark. Despite the early rise it was a great day and it was beautiful outside as well.

Played out on the trampoline with my son several times and my legs are likely to feel that tomorrow. You wouldn’t think that jumping around like that would cause any kind of soreness, but it sure does!

Day 123 ~ queen of the “W” questions

Day 123 ~ March 11th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: Mx. ~ a title of respect prefixed to a person’s surname. Unlike Mr., Mrs., or Ms., it does not indicate gender.

I’m trying to figure out a way to digitize my recipes and so far can’t see to come up with a good plan. I was going to move to a cue card box, but I honestly don’t want to write all of them out on cards. But having them in a binder isn’t working out either. It’s tough to store and it gets dirty are my too biggest annoyances with it. Anyway I will continue with the brainstorming and hopefully I can come up with a great solution.

Day 122 ~ had to be out in it

Day 122 ~ March 9th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: circumjacent ~ lying around; surrounding.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Look inside! The secret is inside you.” — Hui-neng

A beautiful, warm, sunny day! Spring can’t be too far around the corner now 🙂

I got the front yard raked and tidied up a bit, nothing crazy, but I wanted to be outside doing yard stuff while it was so glorious. I can’t wait until I can go full swing on gardening and landscaping in the yards!!

Day 111 ~ I am living!

Day 111 ~ February 26th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: exordium ~ the beginning of anything.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Keep your heart clear and transparent and you will never be bound.” — Ryokan

All of the sunshine today and a fantastic morning with the kidlet so all-in-all a fantastic morning!

I had another appointment at the hospital this afternoon. It wasn’t intended to be a biopsy, but the doc informed that it was very likely considering my history. And it was good for a second there, but then after some hardcore scrapping she needed to take samples from two places. *Sigh* I want this all to be over… It’s been over a year and I need to see her again in 6 months providing my biopsies come back negative. Just… sucks…. I was hoping for better news.

Day 104 ~ I’ll take it!

Day 104 ~ February 19th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: bilboes ~ an iron bar with sliding shackles, used to fasten prisoners’ ankles.

Today’s Calendar Quote:The root of suffering is attachment.” — Buddha

So much sunshine, but it is bloody cold!!!!
I love the sun more than the horrible, overcast gray skies so I will absolutely take this over that “bleh”-ness any day even if I get a touch shiver-y.

I do some exercises to warm myself up if I get too cold like push-ups, jumping jacks, pull-ups, etc.
Or running if I have the time to fit one in because I don’t like to go for shorter than 20 minutes which is usually just over the 4km mark for me. I can hardly wait until I can get running back outside again because this in circles is getting rather boring even though it’s convenient. At least I am not stuck on a treadmill as that is definitely worse than running in circles in my opinion.

Day 101 ~ anticipation is building

Day 101 ~ February 16th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: mungo ~ a low-grade wool from felted rags or waste.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Attain deliverance in disturbances.” — Kyong Ho

A slightly high-strung/rougher morning right at the beginning, but it evened itself out eventually. And we got outside for some fresh air and intended sunshine but it disappeared on us by the time we got to our location. The kiddo had some fun playing with ice/snow chunks near the Greenway trail entrance so he had a good time. That was the point so it was a success even if it wasn’t the intended activity. I’m looking forward to the snow being completely finished for the season so I can get my son out on his bike or long board!!

Day 72 ~ teaser day

Day 72 ~ January 18th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: bodkin ~ a small, pointed instrument for making holds in cloth, leather, etc.
Today’s Calendar Quote:Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” — Martin Luther

The sun is out today!!!!!
It’s been over a week since I saw it last and it is glorious haha

The worst part of winters here isn’t the cold or the snow, but the lack of sunshine for long periods of time. It’s a lovely spring day today though and while it is so lovely, it is kind of cruel too. It’s only the middle of January in Canada so this beautiful warmer weather is a rather horrible tease, especially with snow expected this weekend! We already have a higher than normal snowfall so hopefully it doesn’t warm up too fast like last year and have crazy flooding for weeks. I live too close to the lake for this not to become a touch stressful!
