Day Seventeen ~ August 19th, 2018
I spent a few hours cleaning up and re-arranging how both yards are set-up this morning and afternoon. My hands are quite achy from the grabbing of the rocks from the garden beds and the shoveling. I’ve found this is common after this kind of work now. Doing lots of baking, which I rarely do anymore, also does the same thing. Long stints of functional grip work are not my friend anymore though taking Glucosamine does help thankfully!
Just doing a quick post tonight as it’s basically bedtime and I didn’t want to miss my entry/question for the day. I’ll probably fix up my tags in the morning! Night ~~ !
Which would you rather be in, an insane asylum or prison? Why?
Well neither seems like a great choice, but for the sake of answering this question then prison.
Insane asylums typically don’t have a release date and honestly how many bloody (literally in some cases…) horror movies are centered around psychotic/scary things happening in an asylum! Far too many!
If you’re in prison then you are serving a sentence so a release date is in the future. Of course, there is always options of parole or early release for good behaviour as well. So while not a fun stint there is a light at the end of that tunnel.

Day Fourteen ~ August 16th, 2018
I gave Zombie, Run a go this morning and I was surprised that I enjoyed it! I am not a fan of zombies or apocalyptic story lines, but this is actually entertaining. Seeing as there are seven seasons out now and obviously I am starting at the beginning, I have lots of story to run to for the foreseeable future. It should keep me well through the winter months so that is a major plus as I need all the motivation I can get come winter time.

Day Thirteen ~ August 15th, 2018
I got up and out of the house this morning early for a run. Typically I have great intentions of getting out early enough to completely beat the summer heat, but it doesn’t happen too often! My legs and butt are sore from leg day yesterday so only did a quick run (with a decent pace) to get everything warmed up before I started core for my lifting split.
The core is already achy so I imagine it’ll be a bit worse come tomorrow morning. In any case I’ll be taking a some more BCAAs and that should help with the DOMS.
Day Ten ~ August 12th, 2018
This morning was race day via MEC at the Myra Canyon Trestles! It was bloody cold, like a 20 degree drop in temp cold, so a big of a shock to the system. I’ve never run this area so it was awesome to head out and see a bunch of new. I opted to leave my phone behind because the results were chip timed and I just wanted to enjoy myself and be oblivious to pace/distance. It was a good decision because I was moving faster than I thought I was at 5min 22-24sec per km and my ankle was giving me some achy grief by about 7k-ish. It would be cool to do this race again next year, but my time big time.
Day Seven ~ August 9th, 2018
I have successfully made it through a week of posts without forgetting. I’m attempting to carry out this list item in the same way of thinking when it comes to days that I don’t want to workout. Which is the second I think “I don’t want to” then I do it right then. It typically takes less than 15 minutes to do up a post and less than that if my journal entry isn’t digital that day so I really have no excuse to not make this happen every day right!
Day Six ~ August 8th, 2018
It was a productive day!
I got up early and out the door to run errands right away. It was amazing to have all the out of home stuff done by 10 a.m. *thumbs up* Getting that all out-of-the-way meant I was able to focus on getting a bunch of stuff done around the house afterwards. I don’t like going in-and-out because it makes it impossible to set aside any time to relax. Chill out time is essential to charging my energy and patience stores for the week!
I was kind of hoping to get out for a run later this evening, but I think I will do it tomorrow morning. I want to give my new Under Armor trail shoes a whirl so I’m thinking around a 8-9 km on the nearby local trail. It’s flat and easy which is perfect because I’m not sure how well these shoes will break in and I don’t want to destroy my feet. Especially with a race on Sunday!

I’m trying to figure out a way to digitize my recipes and so far can’t see to come up with a good plan. I was going to move to a cue card box, but I honestly don’t want to write all of them out on cards. But having them in a binder isn’t working out either. It’s tough to store and it gets dirty are my too biggest annoyances with it. Anyway I will continue with the brainstorming and hopefully I can come up with a great solution.
