Day 72 ~ January 18th, 2018
Today’s Calendar Word: bodkin ~ a small, pointed instrument for making holds in cloth, leather, etc.
Today’s Calendar Quote: “Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” — Martin Luther
The sun is out today!!!!!
It’s been over a week since I saw it last and it is glorious haha
The worst part of winters here isn’t the cold or the snow, but the lack of sunshine for long periods of time. It’s a lovely spring day today though and while it is so lovely, it is kind of cruel too. It’s only the middle of January in Canada so this beautiful warmer weather is a rather horrible tease, especially with snow expected this weekend! We already have a higher than normal snowfall so hopefully it doesn’t warm up too fast like last year and have crazy flooding for weeks. I live too close to the lake for this not to become a touch stressful!

Today’s Calendar Word: adscititious ~ added or derived from an external source; additional
Today’s Calendar Quote: “Tao is the storehouse of all things. It is the good man’s treasure and the bad man’s refuge.” — Lao Tzu
Kiddo is back and forth temperament-wise today and stim-ing as well… They happen now and then, but I am so grateful they are on the “not-so-often” end of things for him because they can be tough days!
Day 68 ~ January 14th, 2018
Today’s Calendar Word: slugabed ~ a lazy person who stays in bed late
Today’s Calendar Quote: “I dwell in possibility.” — Emily Dickinson
It was a busy day!! I think we spent more time out of the house than it today!
Swimming lessons (through SwimAbility) at the pool across the bridge started early this afternoon and despite getting there earlier than intended and have to wait (which was difficult for my son!) he did amazing! He held hands with his instructor no problem so he wouldn’t run on the pool deck (a strange male! This is rare!), cleaned up the rings he was playing with before leaving the pool, didn’t freak out when he didn’t get the ball, and left the pool & right to me without a single hitch!
I am beyond pleased that this went so well because he loves water!!! *happy dance*

Today’s Calendar Quote: “Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.” — Basho
This morning was the first solo session with the new Speech Therapist that is slowly replacing the one my son has used for the last two years. It went way better than I anticipated and I am so grateful that he seems to handle new people a hundred times better now than in the past. I hope he ends up liking her just as much as his previous one, but those are hard shoes to fill! She is amazing!

Today’s Calendar Word: knosp ~ a budlike ornament
Today’s Calendar Quote: “There is a basket of fresh bread on your head, yet you go door to door asking for crusts.” — Rumi
A fantastic morning despite being incredibly sore from my core workout yesterday! Kidlet was in a great mood so that means the day start off on the right foot and it gives up more options to begin his schedule with as well.
This morning we went to the indoor track as I’ve wanted to take him for a while and not able to get it planned just right. All that changed this morning and he did amazing there and he had fun!! It was a mish-mash of walking and running but we ended up going just under two kilometers. I can’t wait to take him back again and I am ecstatic that he seems to actually like running!

Day 62 ~ January 8th, 2018
A high-strung start to the day but we got it sorted quicker than expected. I simply removed the iPad from my son’s possession because it was causing so many darn issues it was better for him not to have it.

Day 58 ~ January 4th, 2018
Finally went and did the last bit of blood work on me and my son that was needed for the genetics referral this morning. It was a small adventure in the sense that everything was great until we got out of the car in the parkade… I’m not sure exactly what caused the ruckus, maybe the way the sounds echoes inside there, maybe he just didn’t want to hold my hand, or perhaps he missed a photo opportunity and I didn’t realize — in any case, the extreme abnormal behaviour confused me! It did not help that the stupid payment machine for parking wasn’t working properly *vexed face* and it was by two sets of elevators so this caused even more crashing rage from the kiddo because he couldn’t go inside them.
I had to nearly drag him from the lights to the building across the street flopping and screaming, it was ridiculous -_- When we got inside the building he crashed and flopped for a handful of minutes and then calmed down, but it was just such a surprise because he’s done so well on outings for close to a year.
