Day 46 ~ April 23rd, 2017
Got out for a bike ride on the Myra Trestles this morning with Hulkhands and a friend. It was a perfect day for it! No wind or rain! There was still a fair bit of snow in the middle bit so we opted to turn around at that point because tromping in the snow with bikes is definitely not ideal, especially without fat tires. Give it another month or so and it will all be melted and we can head up again for a jaunt.
Thankfully I was thinking far enough ahead and took something to help deal with my allergies for the day. The two things I am most allergic to in this area are pollinating like crazy right now, so the eyes and nose are going haywire!
Day 45 ~ April 20th, 2017
My son was awake before 5:30 this morning and tromping out of bed shortly after then. Thankfully he was totally game to come cuddle with me in my bed. He even fell back to sleep there too! When my alarm went off thirty minutes later and I was getting up, he didn’t want to get up. I even asked him if he wanted “more sleep” and he very quietly, sleepy mumbled “more” and promptly started snoring again *chuckles* So, I tucked him back in and even now he is still snoozing away and it’s been just over an hour since I got up. He hasn’t done something like this with me in years and it felt nice 🙂

Day 41 ~ March 12th, 2017
Two days in a row of waking up with no snow on the ground and the sun is out too 😀 I am feeling hopeful this morning!
I think that it would be nice to head out for a walk in an hour or so to soak up some much need rays. Ideally I’d love to head out for a run, but the route I really want to do is probably way too muddy still so it’ll have to wait. I thought about running the pathway along the lake, but I can see that it’s super windy so that will be a frigid run (aka miserable). So, I will do some more indoor running later today or tomorrow. Tuesday or Wednesday I’ll see about getting outside for a good jaunt!
Things that I am grateful for/about today:
~ getting some of the SLP Core Word visual symbols cut out
~ I didn’t forget about the time change and got the clocks switched ahead first thing this morning
~ an awesome lat and shoulder workout!!
~ making silly wookie noises with my son. It’s so flippin’ cute! 🐱
~ having some quiet time

Day 40 ~ March 11th, 2017
Being stuck indoors when all you want to do is get outside and working on your garden totally sucks -_-
I can not wait for the weather to consistently stay warm enough out so I can get it all started! Plus, I am so bloody stir crazy!! Right now everything is just super muddy, wet, and still cold enough to suck after a while. It’s hard to do much of anything in those conditions and my kiddo doesn’t like being wet or muddy so outdoor activities are not high on the list now. Soon though, soon.
The last couple of days I’ve slowly put together a “morning routine” visual for my son. I have a bedtime one already made up, but I didn’t want to start using it until I had the A.M. one done. So I think I will start those both on Monday and I know it’ll be good for both of us. Our day typically always goes smoother if the day starts off organized!
Things I am grateful for/about today:
~ it raining instead of snowing this afternoon. Finally!
~ deciding where I am sticking another garden plot in, in the back yard
~ I got my herbs seeded yesterday and maybe do some more this evening, maybe…
~ increasing reps and/or time in a workout. This feels amazing!
~ getting caught up on the laundry, even the bedding is done *fist pump*

Day 30 ~ February 5th, 2017
It’s the end of the day and I am extremely sleepy so hopefully I get a good sleep tonight. Last night definitely sucked, ended up only getting about 3 hours and I did a ton of working out this morning/early afternoon too so that should help tucker me out!
I am over 2,000 push-ups for the annual quest of 20,017 by the end of the year as of today. I did almost 600reps today alone *phew* my chest and shoulders are going to be sore tomorrow for sure! I think I am going to set my minimum daily amount at 100reps so I don’t end up falling anymore behind than I am at the moment. I don’t think it’s by too much now, but better to do more and finish early than get behind and need to do more than body can handle, especially towards the end.
Things I am grateful for today:
~ realizing that driving in snow isn’t as big a deal as I thought it would be 🙂
~ lots of exercising today
~ doing yoga with my son –> Day 5 of Yoga Camp via Yoga With Adriene on YouTube
~ getting the errands done early and quickly this morning
~ that I don’t need caffeine to get through my day even when I am sleepy *thumbs up*

Day 29 ~ February 4th, 2017
*sigh* it’s been a tough few days here with the kiddo… Thankfully these kinds of days don’t happen all that often, maybe a 5-10 times a year, but when they do it is always incredibly overwhelming because it hasn’t been my “normal” for a very long time.
So, that craziness combined with trying to get work done on my Pre-Calc course, the daily chores, plus attempting to get some stuff off of my ever-growing ‘to-do’ list, my son’s schooling/therapy/body breaks/hygiene/meals, issues with my computer, and my daily workout and such has made for a very tired Val….
All of that I know is contributing to my terrible sleep the last few nights as well. I know the irritability I’m feeling is simply from just being extra tired and is not helping any of it -_-
But, today has been better than the last two and despite those earlier tough days for my son, he’s done amazing with all of his schoolwork! He even got through two days worth of stuff yesterday he was so focused on doing school stuff. So, not all bad, just more difficult than I would like!!
Well… I suppose the above is kind of my last few days seriously summarized so not much else to say. It’s snowed for most of yesterday and today so there’s lots of snow on the ground again. I don’t mind all that much because it means that temperatures will be warmer for at least a little while. I do love seeing the sunshine this time of the year, but days like that are typically freezing and I despise being cold!!
Things that I am grateful for today (and last two days too!):
~ not losing my temper
~ getting almost three weeks of schoolwork organized for my son
~ my punching bag
~ I got the big bean bag stitched up and the refill put in
~ the walls washed in my son’s room
~ going for a run yesterday at the track
~ increased reps for my pull-ups this morning
~ cinnamon. It make so many things, so very tasty!
~ small heating pads to sleep with
~ trimming my hair and my son’s hair
Day 28 ~ January 31st, 2017
I spent the morning out doing errands and getting a test done at school. I did really well on it, but I expected that to happen as I did well on the hand-in and all the practice assignments. I hope the next unit isn’t to difficult to understand, it’s about Rational Expressions I think. I can’t seem to recall anything about it from the review course(s) last year though…. *Fingers crossed*
I am up to 1,034 of 20,017 for the annual push-ups as of today. I did dragon, triangle, archer, cross body, and raised leg variations this afternoon. And I am really sore tonight as I’ve done just over 600reps over the last two days. I think I am still actually behind by about 700reps(-ish) still to finish on time if I eventually want to just do a set amount of 50-60reps a day. If I continue with the high rep volume I won’t stay behind, but it does mean that I am extra sore at least every other day!
Tomorrow I start two Darebee programs, another 30-day Yoga on YouTube with a couple of members from The Hive 😀 , and the monthly challenge from Darebee as well. It’s going to be a fun month!!
And well I am actually super sleepy now so going to head to bed and here’s hoping I get a decent night’s sleep!
Things I am grateful for today:
~ doing great on my Unit 2 math test
~ signing the paperwork for Respite for my son this morning
~ driving on the highway is getting less stressful
~ new sweaters!
~ getting even more clutter cleared from/in my desk
