Day 135 ~ please no tears

Day 135 ~ March 23rd, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: orrery ~ a clockwork model of the solar system, of the sun, earth, and moon.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Nature…makes nothing in vain.” — Aristotle

A bit of hiccup-y morning with the kiddo because I don’t think he slept all that well last night. Thankfully it evened out by the afternoon though. Going through an entire day like this morning would have been a real challenge.

I zipped out to the track this morning for a real quick run and just killed it pace-wise. I wanted to go longer, but tomorrow is leg day and didn’t want to destroy my legs beforehand. I’m planning on keeping my longer runs for either Monday or Tuesday evenings. Hopefully it works for the former so my legs get a day of rest before the next leg day.

Today’s Calendar Word: stoup ~ a container for drinking beers, etc.; a flagon.

Today’s Calendar Quote:The eye may see from the hand, but not for the mind.” — Henry David Thoreau

Monday’s and Thursday’s seem to be the worst days of the week for me to get any kind of decent sleep. Not sure exactly why this is, but that’s what I’ve noticed over the last two weeks or so.

My son had his regular therapy session this afternoon and I went upstairs to fold laundry and nearly fell asleep when I took a moment to recline. Just so tired all the time and don’t have a solution for it for the time being.

Today’s Calendar Word: struthious ~ having to do with or resembling an ostrich.

Today’s Calendar Quote:I’d like to divide myself in order to see, among these mountains,

” — Saigyo

Looks like I got D119 and D120 mixed up… I generally prep several posts every week so they all look exactly the same until I put in that days stuff so not surprised this happened to me!

I cleaned up (and out) my son’s room this morning/afternoon. It took me way longer than I anticipated it taking too. I figured maybe 3 hours in total but it took me over 6 hours! That had me cleaning up all the Lego, sorting through his toys, sweeping and washing the floor (and some walls), cleaning/making his bed, and finding ways to reorganize where a few things went. I still need to decide where and how I am putting the Lego, but otherwise everything else is finished.

Today’s Calendar Quote:A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it.” — Dogen Zenji

A relaxing afternoon by myself!!!!

I worked out, listened to music, just zoned out on the couch, went and got puppy stuff this morning, and sorted through a bunch of the kiddos “piles”. I didn’t do much else because it was so wonderful to just not have to!

So not much to talk about today other than I just took it easy. I am already starting to feel sore from today’s lifting so I will probably do some yoga soon. Here’s hoping my upper body isn’t completely destroyed tomorrow! 🙂

Day 118 ~ puppers!

Day 118 ~ March 5th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: deipnosophist ~ a person skilled in the art of dining and dinner-table conversation.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Listen. Keep silent. You are not God’s mouthpiece. Try to be an ear,
and if you do speak, ask for explanations.
” — Rumi

I went had a quick meeting with one of our landlord peeps this afternoon. We have an opportunity to get a dog that will eventually become a service dog for my son so I was nervous as all get out!

But it was all for naught! I was talking for like two minutes and she was completely on board with it. All they need for their records is a letter of intent basically from someone working my son. I have plenty of those so I was easily able to accommodate that step. And yeah, we pick up the pup next Monday. *happy dance* Hooray!

I am so excited for my son, he is going to utterly lose his mind when he realizes this dog is his forever haha

The super cleaning and organizing continued into most of today. I got the floors vacuumed and washed, my son’s room cleaned up and re-arranged again, the laundry done, the dishes done, swapped out the old kitchen table for a small desk, got the rest of the paper notes on my desk cleaned off and got some more stuff done for the action/pronoun cards I’m making for my son.
