Day 134 ~ two easy picks

Today’s Calendar Word: stoup ~ a container for drinking beers, etc.; a flagon.

Today’s Calendar Quote:The eye may see from the hand, but not for the mind.” — Henry David Thoreau

Monday’s and Thursday’s seem to be the worst days of the week for me to get any kind of decent sleep. Not sure exactly why this is, but that’s what I’ve noticed over the last two weeks or so.

My son had his regular therapy session this afternoon and I went upstairs to fold laundry and nearly fell asleep when I took a moment to recline. Just so tired all the time and don’t have a solution for it for the time being.

Today’s Calendar Quote:A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it.” — Dogen Zenji

A relaxing afternoon by myself!!!!

I worked out, listened to music, just zoned out on the couch, went and got puppy stuff this morning, and sorted through a bunch of the kiddos “piles”. I didn’t do much else because it was so wonderful to just not have to!

So not much to talk about today other than I just took it easy. I am already starting to feel sore from today’s lifting so I will probably do some yoga soon. Here’s hoping my upper body isn’t completely destroyed tomorrow! 🙂

Day 118 ~ puppers!

Day 118 ~ March 5th, 2018

Today’s Calendar Word: deipnosophist ~ a person skilled in the art of dining and dinner-table conversation.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Listen. Keep silent. You are not God’s mouthpiece. Try to be an ear,
and if you do speak, ask for explanations.

I went had a quick meeting with one of our landlord peeps this afternoon. We have an opportunity to get a dog that will eventually become a service dog for my son so I was nervous as all get out!

But it was all for naught! I was talking for like two minutes and she was completely on board with it. All they need for their records is a letter of intent basically from someone working my son. I have plenty of those so I was easily able to accommodate that step. And yeah, we pick up the pup next Monday. *happy dance* Hooray!

I am so excited for my son, he is going to utterly lose his mind when he realizes this dog is his forever haha

Day 104 ~ I’ll take it!

Today’s Calendar Word: bilboes ~ an iron bar with sliding shackles, used to fasten prisoners’ ankles.

Today’s Calendar Quote:The root of suffering is attachment.” — Buddha

So much sunshine, but it is bloody cold!!!!
I love the sun more than the horrible, overcast gray skies so I will absolutely take this over that “bleh”-ness any day even if I get a touch shiver-y.

I do some exercises to warm myself up if I get too cold like push-ups, jumping jacks, pull-ups, etc.
Or running if I have the time to fit one in because I don’t like to go for shorter than 20 minutes which is usually just over the 4km mark for me. I can hardly wait until I can get running back outside again because this in circles is getting rather boring even though it’s convenient. At least I am not stuck on a treadmill as that is definitely worse than running in circles in my opinion.

Today’s Calendar Quote:Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.” — Basho

This morning was the first solo session with the new Speech Therapist that is slowly replacing the one my son has used for the last two years. It went way better than I anticipated and I am so grateful that he seems to handle new people a hundred times better now than in the past. I hope he ends up liking her just as much as his previous one, but those are hard shoes to fill! She is amazing!

Day 63 ~ body weight split and random awesome

Today’s Calendar Word: dight ~ to clothe or equip
Today’s Calendar Quote:How wonderful! How wonderful! The inanimate expounding the Dharma. What an ineffable truth!” — Tung-shan

Energy-wise it was an extremely slow morning. I couldn’t get my ‘get-up-and-go’ going a hundred percent until much later in the afternoon. I nearly opted to do groceries a different day, but I knew that would just make me frazzled as far as time goes so I didn’t choose that route. I am so glad I didn’t because I saw a co-worker from my old job at the grocery store and I hadn’t seen him in a couple of years. Turns out he is about to leave the same place as well for partly the same reason I did, but it’s now a thousand times worse than when I left about 4 years ago. Considering how much it is stressing him out, I am so glad to hear he is cutting himself loose and I know he’ll find something better if he chooses to find other work.

He is easily one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met and I was so glad to run into him randomly this afternoon!
