Day 26 ~ channeling my inner robot = all of the DOMS

Day 26 ~ December 3rd, 2017

Sooooooooo sore this morning!!!!!!!!!!! Just keeping myself upright is a bloody challenge and going up/down the stairs is kinda awful! I started Roadwork (via Darebee) today and that means I only had a run and no strength workouts until tomorrow. The soreness sort of chilled out for most of the afternoon, but I was otherwise occupied for most of it so it was easy to ‘ignore’ it. Unfortunately it came back with a vengeance just before supper time though so I’m ready to cuddle with my foam roller and load up on the Ibuprofen!



Day 35 ~ slight procrastinating… , daily pretzel continues

Day 35 ~ March 4th, 2017

I haven’t worked on any Math since Wednesday… It’s technically the Mid-Term review I am on now so no new stuff to go over this week. But, I’ll get a bunch of that assignment done on Sunday and on Tuesday as I don’t write that exam until Wednesday. So, I’ve got lots of time to get it finished and I kind of need it completely quiet when I work on it too. And, well… quiet doesn’t exist at home if the kidlet and everyone else is home too 😛

I’ve continued on with daily yoga since the beginning of 2017 and I am pleased to see the progress in my flexibility even if it is slow progress. The things that I am most pleased with at this time is that I can place my heels flat in downward dog and I place my palms flat in forward fold. I never thought I’d do that so quickly!
Until the end of March I’ll be continuing on with Yoga With Adriene and then starting up some runner specific yoga that I will mix in with some strength yoga routines as well in the months afterwards. I’d still love to take a few classes just to really make sure I’m getting the poses just right, but I definitely feel a lot more comfortable in many of them.

Things that I am grateful for/about today:

~ I’ve managed to start and finish a few books over the last couple of days! This hasn’t happened in months and it feel awesome!!
~ I got all the new visual symbols for my son’s SLP (Speech Therapy) Core Words glued down this week. They are technically in his AAC device, but I wanted to have the symbols physically on hand just in case and it makes it easier to use immediately through the day. Now I just need to cut them out and tape them up.
~ I still have decent progress with my splits even after not doing them for a while
~ so sunny today!!!!!
~ starting some sunflower seeds indoors this morning with my son

Day 34 ~ an AM challenge, some fitness plans

Day 34 ~ February 25th, 2017

This morning was one where I wish it was easier for my son to move past certain things/situations. He really wanted something that I couldn’t physically give him and couldn’t seem to continue on with the day because of it. We got close and then the fixation came back and derailed the whole re-direct… *sigh* Thankfully this didn’t go on all day, but it would’ve been great to get past it sooner rather than later.

I’ve organized my daily workouts right up until my first race at the beginning of April. I have a good idea of what I want to start right after that, but I’ll need to see how I feel after the race. I imagine I won’t be too much worse for wear as it’s only a 10km, but again it’s in an area that I’ve never been so I can’t be 100% certain of that outcome. Running and daily yoga and push-ups I plan to continue doing regardless obviously. The rest has not been decided yet though as there are so many possibilities! 😀

On another short fitness note, my push-up totals towards my annual amount as of today is: 6,794/20,017. I will finish it by summer I think, but I will continue with the daily tallies as I want to see what number I finish at for the year.

Things that I am grateful for/about today:

~ listening to some old tunes with fun bass lines!
~ starting back with weights in March until my first race
~ seeing things throughout the day that randomly made me grin
~ that my son is doing more and more body breaks independently or without needing me to physically move him through it *thumbs up*
~ barefoot running

Day 27 ~ slowpoke fancy-pants & brain-syncing

Day 27 ~ January 29th, 2017

A fairly relaxing day I suppose… Went out for coffee with Hulkhands and that was nice 🙂
The sunshine was out and about throughout the day and I gave my car a wash on the way home as well. It needed it badly! I was amazed at how busy the car wash was this morning and there were so many fancy-pants that totally didn’t need a wash, but the peeps took their sweet A** time… *vexed face* Ahhhh oh well, at least I had the time to get it done today either way.

Other than getting some things tidied around the house, I basically worked on math homework most of the day. I finished everything I need to hand in on Tuesday before I write the Unit test and I am going to do the Unit quizzes shortly after posting. I’m glad this particular material seems to make more sense to me this time around. I think it’s just cause it was explained in more detail than it was in the review course last year. It was just not jivving with my noodle then, but elated that I seem to have sorted it out this year *fist pump* Hopefully the next unit is just as brain-syncing as this one!

Things I am grateful for today:

~ that I’ve come such long way with how patient I am with others
~ my son finds the act of putting a puzzle together so calming
~ washing my car from all the snow, road grime, and dirt
~ Hulkhands putting up the stationary pull-up bar
~ finishing up my current fitness program and challenges a day early

Day 26 ~ push-ups = <3

Day 26 ~ January 28th, 2017

Starting a fun, annual push-up quest via a fellow bee in The Hive. The goal is to do 20,017 push-ups by the end of the year. I imagine I will finish it up well before then as I don’t really need a reason/excuse to do push-ups! I love them sooooo much!!!

I don’t have much else to say today. I’ve stayed busy and got through all the Unit 2 lessons for Pre-Calc so I have two whole days to work through the hand-in assignment. Hopefully it goes by quickly so I can just get right to the test on Tuesday when I go into the school.

Things that I am grateful for today:

~ getting a ton of stuff done by lunch time
~ not needing my winter coat for my walk to/from the library
~ using my workout this morning as my reward for finishing a lesson page in math
~ sorting through the pile of paper/notes on my desk and bulletin board

Day 24 ~ all of the productive

Day 24 ~ January 26th, 2017

It was an absolutely gorgeous day! Sunshine and blue sky for a good chunk of the daylight hours which was lovely as it’s been overcast for several days.
I was outside a few times this afternoon, sans winter gear as it was so warm, and I noticed that my bee bomb, green onions, and strawberries are already sprouting!! That is craziness and looks like we will have another early spring here if this keeps up. I am definitely not complaining! I can’t wait to get back out into the gardens and start getting things planted and possibly moved around *rubs hands in glee*

I think I’ve decided on almost everything I am doing fitness-wise next month. I have two Darebee programs planned, another monthly Yoga practice, and possible one easier type fitness challenge. That last part is the only thing I am not 100% decided on as of yet. I kind of want to wait and see what the monthly challenge will be in The Hive before solidifying that plan. It means I have to wait until the end of the month though and that is going to be tough!

Things that I am grateful for today:

~ silly, booty-shaking dancing with my son
~ having lots of energy today despite not sleeping well last night
~ beautiful, sunshine-y weather
~ getting my shelf and closet cleaned up/organized today
~ finally washing up the small trampoline this afternoon

Day 23 ~ zoom zoom and good news

Day 23 ~ January 25th, 2017

It seems that this is a difficult daily habit for me to create, more so than I thought it would be! I think that the key will be starting this post first thing in the morning. Once dinner time hits my motivation to sit and do some thinking/typing drastically drops. I’ll try this, this week and see how well it helps me.

I drove to Vernon this morning as I needed to go to the Teach and Learn store in the city. It was my full first drive on the highway and it was much easier during the daylight hours. On the way out-of-town I was flabbergasted at how many people were excessively speeding. And by that I mean doing at least 120km/hour, and many were likely going faster than that, in a 90km zone! I just can’t quite comprehend why anyone would want to drive that fast period as high speeds definitely increase my anxiety while on the road.

Off that topic, I got what I needed at the teaching store. Some sight word flashcards, letter stamps, the next HWOTs printing book, the next math book in the series my son is working through, a prepositions game, and some fun fitness cards for us to do for body breaks. I am looking at yoga game and Roll & Play game for him as well (from, but I need to check with his teacher to see if that is covered by his schooling costs. Hopefully they are because they would be fantastic games to get for him and I actually would enjoy myself too!

Some other cool news is that I got a phone this afternoon about Respite for my son via the At Home Funding Program. Typically it’s over a year wait list for these funds and thankfully I’ve only had to wait about two months I believe. I go sign the paperwork next and I should hopefully get that started real soon!!

Things I am grateful for today:

~ having a good experience driving on the highway this morning
~ increasing some of my weights this morning. Getting stronger! Yes!
~ not completely losing my cool when I had some issues with my computer this morning
~ getting my desk cleaned up/off today
