Day 10 ~ let’s get it started!

Day 10 ~ November 17th, 2017

A fantastic morning! My son had a great Speech Therapy session and I’ve got a copy of the sign language for the phonetic sounds of letters so I can give my son visuals to help him make the right sounds when he speaks. This is going to be so helpful! Also, we did some yoga and worked on some craft sticks (therapy sticks). He loves doing these sticks so much as he is basically putting all his favourite things on an object he can keep and display. I actually enjoy it immensely and am impressed with each end product I create too.

I decided to start Yoga Revolution again as the kiddo really enjoys Adrienne, she makes him smile immediately when she starts talking. It’s adorable and he went through most of the video as best as possible and for the moves he didn’t do he still stayed on his mat until it ended *thumbs up*

Day 9 ~ sunshine = smiles

Day 9 ~ November 16th, 2017

It was a beautiful day with more sunshine! I got out with the kiddo and a friend of mine this morning to a provincial park with some fun trails right in the area since I rarely go to them. We brought the nature home with us in the form of sticks and small stones. Likely paint and googlie eye the rocks and decorate the sticks with crafties 🙂 I was saying while we were out this morning that I should always bring a bucket with me because I always end up with stuff in my pockets by the end of the jaunt!

Day 8 ~ workout weekend thoughts

Day 8 – November 15th, 2017

*sigh* If I miss one day then it’s so likely that I will miss two… I’ve been so sore (hard DOMS) the last few days so sitting at my computer wasn’t appealing. Plus, with the snow melting this past week I wanted to get out to the yards to clean up most of the leaves before it snowed again and lost my chance.
I worked my core too hard this weekend, it’s a mistake I haven’t made in a long time and I’ve mentally berated myself several times over the last few days. I won’t make this mistake again!

Day 7 ~ ‘pairing’ galore!

Day 7 – November 12th, 2017

I simply forgot about posting yesterday… Between relaxing and going through school work with the kiddo it got shoved down in the back of my mind. I will continue prepping a weeks worth of posts on Sundays as that is working well and has me sitting down in the morning to do a quick start and then I usually finish it off in the afternoon.

Another meeting with the therapist (Behaviour Analyst) this morning to go over ‘pairing’ with my Hulkhands. It went very well so here’s hoping for continued progress in that regard 🙂

Day 6 ~ need some get up and go!

Day 6 – November 10th, 2017

I am feeling completely drained today and I’m not sure why. I don’t sleep well most nights, but it doesn’t normally leave me this sluggish the next day. I wanted to lay down for a nap by lunch time! Naps are extremely rare things for my to do or even contemplate so that says something for how tired I am today. Plus, that I feel low on energy is just strange because I typically have a difficult time expelling it throughout the day in time for bedtime.

Day 5 ~ a perfect snowman day

Day 5 – November 9th, 2017

A semi short post as the day was busy like I expected and despite that it was a good one overall. Often lots of running around, meetings, sessions (etc.) means a stressful, messy day, but that wasn’t the case this time. So incredibly thankful for this rarity!

A new therapist (Behaviour Analyst) came in this morning to work with my son, or more specifically, with the other people working with my son. It’s simply another approach to ABA Therapy that isn’t common in the Okanagan opposed to the other type of ABA which is more table based learning. While the latter was helpful and useful when my son did it several years ago, I see the appeal of the former type of ABA and it’s only be half a day! It’s all stuff/things that I already do with my son, so it’s great to see that my actions from the beginning have basically been on point. I hope that this is a help to everyone working or interacting with him on some level so long-term he can have better, and more, relationships with other people besides me!

Day 4 ~ contained the ‘hulk smash’

Day 4 – November 8th, 2017

This will be a real quick post because I don’t like to be on the computer this late at night anymore. I find I stay up way too late otherwise. Typically it means falling into a Youtube vortex for hours or getting sucked into sorting ebooks or files to/from my external hard drives. Plus sitting in front of a screen at night just makes me too tense before attempt to sleep, which usually means stiffness in the morning.

The computer issues prevailed today as it seems that my motherboard is likely done-sies. But (!) I didn’t drop kick it out a window like I envisioned in my mind. I simply unplugged it and set my laptop up for the time being. The screen is wwwwaaaayyyy smaller than my desktop monitor so it’s tough on my eyes and the keyboard is so scrunched together so I miss letters or hit the wrong keys all the time *fuming face*, but it is better than nothing!


Not going to chat about anything else as I want to try for a decent night’s sleep for my day tomorrow. It’s another busy one so I want to get my workout done first thing in the A.M. so at least one thing is ticked off right away 🙂 Night!
