Day 17 ~ Favourite quote from your favourite book
First choice is the Fear Litany from Dune. It has been my favourite for many, many years and has certainly been a mantra of sorts for me through them on occasion as well.
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” ~ From Dune by Frank Herbert
Joe Hill quickly become a favourite when I picked up one of his books (Horns) last year and I was beyond impressed with everything about it!
“I see God now as an unimaginative writer of popular fictions, someone who builds stories around sadistic & graceless plots, narratives that exist only to express His terror of a woman’s power to choose who and how to love, to redefine love as she sees fit, not as God thinks it ought to be. The author is unworthy of His own characters.” ~ From Horns by Joe Hill
